Miss Shannan to bring her wit and whimsy to FMR's fall storytelling gala
When Friends of the Mississippi River decided to host a fall storytelling event (An Evening Celebrating the Mississippi River: Our Storied River) in the spirit of The Moth, it was only natural that we turn to the local team of talented personalities who host Twin Cities Moth StorySLAMs to helm our event — which is how we came to love the wit and style of Miss Shannan Paul.
Not only has Miss Shannan been engaged with the local storytelling community for years, she is also a comedian, speaker, radio and television host, and social instigator. Miss Shannan is a regular contributor on TV talk shows speaking on diversity and pop culture, and is an active board member for several local organizations, including the Pacer Center, the Autism Society of Minnesota and Spero Academy.
Miss Shannan says, "I'm very excited to be a part of this year's event. When I first moved to Minnesota from Arizona, the Mississippi River was one of the first visits my family and I made. I'm looking forward to supporting Friends of the Mississippi River as they continue their mission to protect the Mississippi River and our Minnesota community."
We're thrilled to welcome Miss Shannan on board to emcee this special event. You won't want to miss it! Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. RSVP today and share with your friends!
